Built with the powerful Shimano Steps E8000 motor. It is one of the lightest e-bike motors on the market at only 6.2lbs and has enough power to flatten most mountains. The Tailwind is not a motorcycle and you still get the full cycling experience. The Shimano system is quiet, smooth, powerful, and very natural feeling. The high capacity Li-Ion, 504 Wh battery last for many miles (or optional 630 Wh battery). My wife and I have taken it out for many 30 to 35 mile rides and only used one bar of the battery (~ 20%) each ride. The setting you use and how hard you work will greatly effect your battery life. The battery can charge to 80% in 2.5 hours, and a full charge takes 5 hours.
